Identify the oppositions in your mind first, win those battles and then you’ll be prepared to stand against anything that war against your possibilities.
The adversaries of your visions and dreams tell you to quit…but the encouragers tell you to push. Which voices will you listen to.
It is better to be thankful for little… than ungrateful in plenty.
A thirsty man does not complain about the drizzle in a dry, desert place…he’s just glad there is some precipitation because it’s a glimmer of hope for even more rain.
Storms don’t last forever neither the trial you are going through. Weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning.
I took this picture one day after we had a really bad snow storm. As I looked at the beauty of the snow covered dried branches that had lost their leaves because it was winter, I thought about how many times we fail to see beauty in the storms of life. Beauty does not announce itself in bad situations and say, “Hey you, it’s me beauty…over here can you see me.” No! We must train our eyes to accidentally see what we can’t see when darkness and difficulties are all around us. When beauty is seen in the storm, an accidental solution could possibly be found. Sometimes we stumble into resolutions from observing things that are wrong while not necessarily looking for a solution. There is always greatness and goodness that comes out of even the worst tragedies in life. When storms come into our lives expect unexpected out pourings of love in the aftermath. When beauty is seen in the storm; boldness, compassion, love and courage can come out of even the least expected.
I borrowed this pic from my brother. When I saw it I thought to myself, “Wow what a powerful shot”. I tried to figure out what it was saying. The sky looked almost enraged. It looked like Mother Nature was angry or something was about to go down. The clouds seemed anxious and excited to shift; not to a position of brightness to give hope to others that morning was about to begin but rather a storm was brewing and boy…. oh boy… was it going to hit with a fury and a vengeance. Then I saw the strong, powerful rays of sunlight forcefully charging their way through the darkness taking authority over it, as if to say, “You’re time is up, you got to get outta here”. Sometimes your days are filled with darkness and hopelessness seem to be the daily meal that you eat; when all you do is cry or force a smile that disguises the pain that you hide deep inside and it’s better to lie and laugh than to tell the truth and cry because you are hurting but don’t want anyone to know…there is still hope. At times you may wonder will things get any better for my sick child, my broken marriage, my downsizing company, my hurting son or messed up daughter…yes there is still hope. When it seems like the darkness is winning and you’re ready to cave in, hold on just a little bit longer and remember that the light of hope chases away the hopeless of darkness. Your change is about to come. I don’t know when and I don’t know how…I just know it will come, perhaps when you least expect it…..never give up. KEEP HOPE ALIVE. Be encouraged and be blessed.
It is said that no one can compete with you when you are walking in the will of God for your life and as a christian I can understand this concept. Often times we are so busy looking at others, the things they are doing, what they are accomplishing and the plateau of success they have accomplished in life, that we fail to see our own growth and progress. All apartment buildings are not built to house thousands of tenants but all are built to put a roof over our heads. Some only have 3 floors others have 50 or more. The person living on the first floor should never feel bad about being on the ground floor because being on the ground floor has an advantage over disadvantage. From the first floor you may not be able to see the beautiful views as the one on the 50th floor but in the event of a massive fire from the top coming down you’ll be more quicker to escape than the person living on the 50th floor. The next time you are incline to whine and complain about your life….have a seat in a chair, sit back and reflect on what you are grateful and thankful for, not the negative things that have happened to you. This chair is a revolving chair. It is made to turn in circles. The next time you sit back in a chair like this…don’t spin around in stress and worry. Spin around and thank God for your life because you are alive and even if things aren’t the way you desire, they are most likely better than what someone else is going through.
Who would have thought this inexpensive treat
would turn out to be such a delight to me
and convincing myself that I was weaned from chocolate
I rebuked the devil as I walked pass it
be gone Satan I said to myself
turning my head in a seducing way
didn’t know if it was tempting me
or a game we were playing
and with an insincere prayer
I said, “God please help me”
I’m tired of chocolate, those sweet sugary bits
I’ve had enough and I’m sick of it
and as if frowning and paying me no mind
I heard Ferrero Rocher say
girl cut the crap
just grab me and quit playing games
I’m feeling you too and I don’t even know your name
And like Samson I became weak as “the weakest man’
It’s the power of chocolate from candy land.
